AUSTRALIA'S CHILD ABUSE ROYAL COMMISSION echoes many of the findings of Ireland's nine-year public Inquiry into the Catholic Church. In Australia, 7% of priests were pa******les, 20% of Marist Brothers and Christian Brothers were pa******les. St John of God shocked everyone with 40% of the religious order abusing intellectually handicapped boys enrolled in its schools.

GOOD NEWS. Police in Sydney, Australia have arrested FATHER DENIS ALEXANDER, a Catholic priest who taught in Scotland at the FORT AUGUSTUS ABBEY SCHOOL. The former Benedictine monk is now in custody. He will face extradition proceedings shortly.

FATHER DENIS ALEXANDER takes a rest in Sydney while Scottish victims wait for the Australian Attorney-General to send him back to Scotland to face his accusers. The FORT AUGUSTUS ABBEY SCHOOL was run by the Benedictines in the Highlands. ALEXANDER denies abusing boys when he was a monk. He retired and moved back to Australia where he worked as an ordained priest in the wealthy Sydney Archdiocese.

AN AUSTRALIAN ARCHBISHOP HAS RESIGNED after admitting he failed to protect the people under his pastoral care. ROGER HERFT did absolutely nothing when he received complaints about pa******le priests in his Diocese. In fact, he couldn't even remember the meetings he had with distraught parents. His resignation might appear at first to indicate contrition, but after 43 years in the Church of England he was due due for retirement anyway.

THE LORD JANNER PUBLIC HEARING has been put off indefinitely by the INDEPENDENT CHILD ABUSE INQUIRY. This hearing was going to be the first cab off the rank next year. But hesitation by the Chair has cast doubt on the Inquiry's teeth. Can it get any worse for victims and their families?

The head of the Catholic Church has apologised in a TV documentary for it's part in FORCED ADOPTIONS. Half a million babies were stolen from single mothers from the end of the War until 1976. The culprits were The Catholic Church, The Church of England and The Salvation Army. It was a profitable operation for the churches who believed the pregnant girls were guilty of the vilest of sins and were unfit to raise a child.

In a TV documentary about mums who were forced to give up their tots between 1945 and 1976 the Archbishop of Westminster apologised for the scandal as some of the women spoke of their ­traumatic experiences

A FORMER ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY will not argue the point when the Child Abuse Inquiry comes knocking. LORD CAREY supported a pa******le bishop in the early 90's and pulled off a soft deal for him with police. But with BISHOP BALL now behind bars the game is over for CAREY. His Lordship will roll over when he faces the IICSA hearing into the Church of England. But this time there will be no special deals for high ranking Church types.

CAN IT GET ANY WORSE? The Child Abuse Inquiry's top lawyer has resigned. Ben Emmerson QC has been with the Inquiry for two years. Now he's had enough. Once again, no reasons are given so the public will be left to speculate about all that must be wrong.

DAME LOWELL GODDARD has tried to justify herself for quitting the Child Abuse Inquiry. She has blamed her staff and the enormous size of the project. She has basically admitted the task was beyond her abilities so she decided to hand it over to someone else. Sadly, GODDARD will return to New Zealand branded a disgrace and a quitter; she will forever be known as the judge who was not up to scratch.

JUSTICE LOWELL GODDARD was highly rated back in New Zealand for her immaculate dress sense, hair and make up, but tragically she was poorly rated as a judge. A 2014 survey by lawyers gave GODDARD last place out of the country's 63 judges. But some how she was appointed Chair of the IICSA in England on a huge salary package. The Home Office described Goddard at the time as "...one of the most respected and experienced judges in the Commonwealth..." It is hard to know why they said this when clearly she was at the bottom of the pile in her own country.
