Some pretty shocking figures have come to light. At St David’s Square in East London, leaseholders found out that between 2018–2020, £114,290 in insurance commission was paid, and 85% went to the freeholder’s investment company. None of this was made clear to the residents at the time.

The FCA also found commissions averaging 30%, with some cases as high as 60% of the premium. No wonder we’re all feeling the squeeze.
