I first met Harjas Popli in my capacity as his lawyer, shortly after he arrived in Canada. One of the first things that struck me about Harjas was his genuine concern for the well being of others. Even as he was beginning to establish his own life in a new country, he recognized that many people in our community needed support and was determined to make a difference.
What impressed me most was that Harjas did not simply speak about helping others, he took action, establishing a charity dedicated to supporting those in need.
That initiative spoke volumes about his character. In a remarkably short period of time, Harjas has become a respected and valued member of our community, demonstrating through his actions a genuine commitment to service, compassion, and leadership.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of witnessing that dedication first hand, and what began as a professional relationship has grown into a meaningful friendship. Harjas is also supported by a wonderful family who embody the same values of kindness, generosity, and community spirit.
I am proud to call Harjas a friend. Our community is fortunate to have individuals like him who are willing to step forward and make a positive difference.
