To recognize this important message, Niagara Falls will shine yellow and black on October 18 at 10:15 p.m. for 15 minutes, courtesy of the Niagara Falls Illumination Board.

“Slow Down and Move Over” - Drive Safe!

“A 31-year-old male pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Oshawa.

On Thursday, October 15, 2026, at approximately 7:55 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Ritson Road South at Vimy Avenue.

A 31-year-old male was reportedly walking across Ritson Road South when they were struck by a blue Dodge Caravan travelling southbound. The pedestrian was then struck by a second vehicle, a black Volkswagen SUV, travelling northbound on Ritson Road South.

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local-area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Both involved drivers remained on scene and cooperated with police.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The cause of this collision remains under investigation.
