Every time I write the RPD to ask why a claimant has been waiting 24...30...36...40...or more months for a hearing, I include a disclaimer that it is NOT an application for an early hearing. Easily 50% of the time they "deny" my "application" for an "early hearing".

I want to know who *EXACTLY* thought it was a good idea to put an apostrophe in a widely-used CBSA email address (namely, the Central hearings office). It is ALWAYS converted to the punctuation / curly apostrophe in my documents, which renders the email address invalid. 😡

The myth of "anchor babies" is such a flimsy strawman argument and barely a fig leaf over its inherent racism. There may - may - be better arguments against "citizens of convenience" or dual citizens, but you fix that with age-of-majority opt-in procedures or tax/benefit regimes, not by denying children the citizenship of where they were born.
