💡 Think a doctor’s note is enough for a long-term disability claim?
It’s not.

⚖️ In LTD claims, one of the most important factors isn’t just your diagnosis—it’s your credibility.

📱 How you describe your day-to-day life, your activity level, and even the data from your phone can all play a role in how your claim is assessed.

That doesn’t mean you should stop living your life. But it does mean understanding how insurers evaluate claims—and what they look for—can make a big difference.

🚗 If you’ve been injured in a car accident, you might be wondering who’s responsible for paying your medical bills.

In Nova Scotia, your treatment may be covered through:
✔️ Your own auto insurance (Section B Accident Benefits)
✔️ Private health benefits
✔️ A claim against the at-fault driver

The good news is that more than one type of coverage may be available, but there are rules and caps to be aware of.

❄️ Last up in our Winter Safety Series: homeowners’ duty to clear snow and ice.

Slips, falls, and icy walkways are a big part of winter injury claims—and they’re preventable.

🏠 If you’re a property owner, you have a legal duty to take “reasonable care” to keep your property safe. That means:

🚶 Clearing snow and ice from walkways, driveways, and entrances
🧊 Salting or sanding icy areas regularly
📆 Keeping up with maintenance

If you’re injured on someone else’s property, make sure to take photos and notes. 📸
