This post is to provide a little update on Nolan, and send a big Thank You and shout out to McMaster Children's Hospital and the amazing team in the 2P Pain Clinic. Last March, Nolan began seeing this incredible team after being referred by a Neurologist (Dr. T) at McMaster CH. At the time, he was unable to walk, struggled with extreme fatigue, and had severe sensitivity to noise. It was a long road ahead, but Dr. T knew that there was a team in the Hospital who could help Nolan.
Within a couple of months of seeing the specialists within the clinic (around this time last year), we started to see improvements. Nolan was able to walk a little quicker, the sensitivity to noise and migraines started to go away, and he was able to start a return to school program.
Thanks to the support of his care team, and countless visits with multiple specialists at the clinic, Nolan is now back to being himself again. He’s enjoying school and friends, running around at full speed, and getting back into sports. He recently played on his school volleyball and dodgeball teams, is now working toward participating on the track team, and is excited for house league baseball and soccer this summer.
We owe so much to the amazing team at McMaster Children’s Hospital and wanted to spread awareness of their Walk & Wheel fundraising event. If you’re looking to support an incredible hospital that makes a life-changing difference for kids and families in our community, click the link and help as much as you can. Thank you to everyone who has supported Nolan and our family along the way!
