Divorce is rarely only about separation.
In Ontario, it often involves parenting schedules, travel consent, passport issues, relocation concerns, and the practical realities of co-parenting after separation.
When parents live in different cities, provinces, or countries, even routine issues can become urgent legal disputes. A vacation plan, a passport application, or a proposed move can quickly raise questions about parenting rights, the child’s best interests, and the need for court intervention.
In my practice, I see that the most difficult cases are often not the most dramatic ones. They are the ones where one small decision affects stability, access, school routines, and family dynamics in a very real way.
For families navigating separation or divorce in Toronto and across Ontario, early legal guidance can make a meaningful difference. The goal is not just to resolve conflict, but to protect children, reduce uncertainty, and avoid preventable escalation.
