De Europese Verordening inzake Verpakkingen en Verpakkingsafval (PPWR) is een van de belangrijkste hervormingen van de Europese verpakkingswetgeving van de afgelopen jaren. De ambitie is duidelijk: verpakkingsafval drastisch verminderen en de transitie naar een circulaire economie versnellen.

Hoewel veel van de meest ingrijpende vereisten pas vanaf 2030 van toepassing zullen zijn, moeten ondernemingen in de food- & beveragesector zich ruim voordien voorbereiden. Verschillende belangrijke compliance- en administratieve verplichtingen zijn al op 𝟭𝟮 𝗮𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 in werking getreden.

Van compliance- en traceerbaarheidsvereisten tot recycleerbaarheid, gerecycleerde inhoud, hergebruik en nieuwe regels voor verpakkingen die met levensmiddelen in contact komen: de PPWR zal een aanzienlijke impact hebben op de volledige waardeketen.
