Holiday Shipping Tip #3
🎄🎄HOLIDAY TIPS FOR A BETTER EXPERIENCE: Just over 3 weeks until Christmas. Don't wait until the last minute to get those packages out.

1. During the holiday season, carriers aren't guaranteeing delivery times so DO NOT wait until the last minute if you have time sensitive items to ship. Overnight items need to be here by 2:00 to ensure they go out.
2. Remember, we CANNOT scan Amazon QR codes. Below the code option, choose UPS DROP-OFF: BOX and LABEL NEEDED to print your own label or send to a friend and email [email protected] and we will print and tape it up for $1 per label. We can now scan most USPS and FED EX QR codesw.
3. If you have something that needs printing by us, try emailing ahead of time to [email protected] with instructions as to how many you need, whether color or B/W and when you will come to pick up. Color copies are .99/copy, Black and white are .15/copy.
4. Notaries REQUIRE an appointment. Please call ahead..360-225-0512. We often try to accommodate walk ins but we get extra busy during December and may ask you to come back. There is a $5 walk in fee.
5. Come as prepared as possible...addresses ready, papers for faxing or copying ready to go, phone numbers for faxes ready. We are more than happy to help package your items, just come as prepared as possible.
6. You are welcome to put drop-offs on the back dock, but you MUST let us know you've done so. Knock on the back door to get our attention so we can scan and put it away quickly. If you need a receipt for your drop off, please be patient if our registers are busy.
7. If we don't answer the phone, please leave a message so we can get back to you as soon as possible. If we are busy we may not get to the phone but will listen to messages as soon as we can. If we are on the phone you will not be able to leave a message.
Our goal is to keep things moving as quickly and smoothly as possible and for your time with us to be pleasant.

We advise NOT waiting til the last minute to ship packages. Delivery dates are NOT guaranteed during this time (even for overnight). If you have an issue with a package, we suggest giving it more time than usual, keep your tracking numbers and check regularly.

🎄🎄 Holiday Shipping Tip: For those who send INTERNATIONAL PACKAGES (at holidays or other times):

Many countries are now requiring a Tax ID # and phone number for the receiver. You need to have this before we can process a package. Your receiver will know what this is! This is not a social security number.

Also keep in mind that while Tariffs have always been in effect, the current fluctuations may cause a jump in shipping prices or higher duties to be paid upon the receipt of items from another country. Please make sure your recipients understand that. Keep this in mind when shopping for items that are coming from overseas as well.

You need to be aware of what is allowed into the country you are sending to. Many countries have restrictions as to what they allow, and sending restricted or forbidden items may cause your package to be undeliverable. (link in comments to check)

You will need to have all contents of package listed out BEFORE you come in, in order for us to process them. We still need to input it in our computer but we need you to have them itemized on a piece of paper.

Your list needs to be as specific as possible and include:
Value of entire package: ie... $100

Quantity of each item: 1 childrens book, 2 cans of starkist tuna, etc

Country of manufacturer: China, Indonesia, USA, etc

Weight (you can weigh it yourself or list what is on package)

Description: use 3 or more words ie: Barbie Doll-new, Men's blue jeans cotton new, canned tuna fish. etc.

Monetary Value of individual items: childrens book $3, 2 cans tuna $6

Requirements for declarations of goods are becoming stricter with more information needed, especially if you are shipping to the EU.

It will save a lot of time if you come prepared. If you don't have these items listed out, we may ask you to do that before we can process your package.

We do have forms here if you want to get some ahead of time.

🎄🎄Holiday Shipping Tip: For the best shipping experience, avoid doing your shipping or other task (fax, copies) when you are in a hurry to get somewhere else. 🙂 You may encounter lines and while we do our best to move through them in a timely matter, we also want to offer the best customer service we can, from packing, to finding you the most cost effective shipping option, and it may take a few extra minutes. Give yourself plenty of time. We look forward to seeing you.

This would apply to anywhere you go to mail/ship parcels, shop etc. Just be kind and patient...

UPDATE: It looks like we are back up and running. Phew!

The Letterbox is currently experiencing a glitch with our Postal Mate system caused by a Microsoft Azure Outage. At the moment we are unable to process packages. We can process regular transactions such as purchases for stamps, copies, etc. We just cannot process packages. We can take drop offs but won't be able to provide receipts until we are back up and running. Thank you for your patience. As a business these outages are tough because that means lack of revenue.

We will update as soon as we are back up and running.
