A bad ass criminal defense lawyer moment:
Today in 1770 the Boston Massacre occurred. The eight British soldiers were charged with murder. The public was enraged and no lawyers would agree to represent them. John Adams, soon to be the second president of the United States, stepped up to defend them in order to insure that they received a fair trial. Despite the public outrage, Adams’ successful defense led to the acquittal of six of the soldiers. The last two were found guilty of a lesser manslaughter offense. Like I said Bad Ass.
