Putting an agreement in writing is important. But simply having something in writing does not necessarily mean you're protected.
The language matters.
A contract can contain unclear terms, missing protections, unfavorable provisions, or obligations you didn't realize you were accepting.
Before signing, it's worth understanding not only what the contract says but also what those terms actually mean for you and the transaction.
Because "it's in writing" and "I'm protected" are not always the same thing.
