💔 3 YEARS. That's how long Dee Dee has been waiting for someone to choose her.💔
At 14 years old, Dee Dee should be spending her golden years curled up in a cozy home, loved by someone who knows she’s worth it. Instead, she’s our longest-term resident cat, still waiting for a place to call her own.
Dee Dee knows what it feels like to have a home. She was adopted and spent about 6 years with a family before being returned through no fault of her own. Now, she’s been waiting over 3 years for someone to give her another chance. 😿
Despite all this time, Dee Dee still enjoys the little things. She loves walking around the lobby in the mornings, soaking up pets and attention from the staff and volunteers who adore her. ❤️ She’s a sweet girl who enjoys affection, but she’s also not afraid to let you know when she’s had enough.
Dee Dee needs to be the only pet in the home, as she doesn’t get along with cats or dogs. She also takes medication twice a day for hyperthyroidism.
We know Dee Dee isn’t the easiest adoption ask. She’s a senior, she needs daily medication, and she needs a home all to herself. We know those things may make people scroll past her. But we also know that the right home for Dee Dee is out there.
Somewhere, there’s someone who won’t see her age as a reason to pass her by. Someone who won’t mind giving her medication, who doesn’t have other pets, and who will love her for exactly who she is.
Dee Dee may not have endless years ahead of her, but she deserves to spend whatever time she has left knowing what it feels like to be home. To be safe. To be loved. To finally be someone’s girl.
