How many processors are just taking your money? An honest question. Do you even know?
One of the most common issues I run into when boarding new clients is multiple companies deducting various amounts from these hardworking small businesses accounts. 39$ here, 75$ there, 99$ there. When we take a look back at months and years prior we find that “joe shmo” who signed us up last didn’t in fact help get the last account closed. And bill didn’t before that, or they didn’t close it properly, or you’re still being charged for a machine you returned years ago.
I saw this last week, I saw this the week before, and the week before that. I saw this today.
Today I met with a local company here in our area, whom at first contact wasn’t really all that interested. So I kept it cordial and kind. I was in the area again, and stopped back in to say hey.
We got to talking and business owner said, “what the hell, let’s have a look and see where we are, it never hurts to check, right?”
And boy are they glad that we did. Today, we discovered that none of these current/former reps/agencies/etc did in fact do what they said they were going to do, do it properly, or flat out lied. What we uncovered today- was a merchant getting charged by 4 different providers monthly to the tune of 800$ per month for various costs- lingering PCI non compliance, a continuing lease on a machine that was returned a year ago, old monthly minimums etc. ON TOP of a really unfair processing agreement bringing their total per month around 1500$!
It’s really troubling to me that these types of situations are allowed to occur, and even more so that there a reps and agencies out there who can pull this kind of BS and still look people in the eye.
We fixed that crap today. Moving forward this merchant’s old lines are officially being cancelled the right way, and all debits are being stopped immediately- with confirmation. And moving forward this merchant will only be utilizing Reward Pay from Payroc - bringing them down from 1500 to around 175$! (35$ subscription + 1%)
That’s an annual savings of nearly 16,000$ and a swing of nearly 32,000$!
And the kicker to it all, is they didn’t even know they were losing it to begin with.
I’m really happy when this happens. When merchants soften enough to let me help them and do it the right way. I wish you could have heard the massive sigh that came out of this person today. Today we helped. And it felt good.

I truly believe in doing things the good old fashioned way- work ethic, hustle, trust earning, going into each opportunity to see how I can help the most, not what I can gain the most. I have something that is potentially very valuable to our local small businesses, and I would never take advantage of that.
