Dear Residents,
With the potential for severe weather over the next few days, please take time now to prepare your household and secure your outdoor belongings. We are monitoring weather conditions closely and will share community updates as needed. The safety of our residents and staff is our priority.
Before the storm:
• Bring inside any loose items from your porch, patio, or yard, including decorations, plants, chairs, and other belongings that could blow around and cause damage.
• Have battery-powered flashlights or lanterns and extra batteries available. Do not use candles during a power outage.
• Charge phones and portable chargers. Gather drinking water, nonperishable food, necessary medications, and supplies for your pets to last several days.
• If you rely on electrically powered medical equipment, arrange a backup power or relocation plan in advance.
• Monitor local weather alerts and follow instructions from emergency officials, including any evacuation orders.
During the storm:
• Stay indoors and away from windows during strong winds. If a tornado warning is issued, move to a small interior room on the lowest floor, away from windows.
• Never operate generators, grills, or fuel-burning equipment inside your apartment. Generators must remain outdoors, at least 20 feet from doors, windows, and garage openings.
• Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible during a power outage.
• Avoid flooded roads, standing water, downed power lines, and damaged or leaning
trees. Never walk or drive through floodwater.
Power outages and emergencies:
A community-wide power outage should be reported directly to your electric provider. Maintenance cannot restore utility service, and a utility outage alone is not a maintenance emergency. If the issue appears limited to your home, please contact maintenance through our usual reporting process.
For fire, a medical emergency, or any immediate threat to life or safety, call 911 first.
Office hours and damage reporting:
The office may close or adjust its hours if weather conditions make travel unsafe. Please check posted notices, email, Facebook, and the LOFT Living app for community updates.
As soon as it is safe, report water leaks, storm damage, fallen trees, or blocked access to management. Include your unit number, the location of the damage, and photos if you can take them safely. Please do not approach damaged structures or attempt to move fallen trees or power lines.
If your personal belongings are damaged, photograph the damage when safe and contact your renters insurance provider to discuss coverage and claims.
Thank you for helping us prepare and keep our community safe.
Please use caution and stay safe!
