Everyone wants top dollar when they sell, but a full kitchen remodel before listing? That math rarely works in your favor.
Here’s the truth most sellers don’t hear until it’s too late — buyers will pay a premium for a home that feels fresh and move-in ready, but they’re not going to reimburse you dollar for dollar for a $40k renovation. The return on a full kitchen gut just isn’t there.
What actually moves the needle? The stuff that costs a fraction of that. A deep clean, fresh paint in a neutral tone, updated hardware, good lighting. Sometimes a new faucet and a coat of stain on the cabinets does more for your sale price than a brand new kitchen ever would.
I help sellers figure out exactly where to spend — and where to stop — so you walk away with more money, not less. If you’re thinking about selling in the next 6 to 12 months and you’re wondering what’s actually worth doing, drop a comment or send me a DM. Happy to take a look at your specific situation.
