Westlake Lake has so much beautiful wildlife, it's easy to see something wonderful everyday. Here is a beautiful Green Heron, it's feathers shimmer iridescent green in the sun. It sits along the shore hunting for frogs, small fish, and more aqua critters. Each breeding season Green Herons pair up with one Mate. They are known for loud and wild courtship displays. I'm sure you know a few people like that!

All the creatures were stirring, even John Notter.
The flags are strewn by the Yacht Club with care.
Hoping that the Independence Day Boat Parade will soon be there!

The Yacht club takes holidays very seriously. Tomorrow, the Yacht Club is serving up a pancake breakfast tomorrow starting at 8:00 am, and hosting a patriotic boat parade after. If you're not a member yet, then Fourth of July next year, you should be!

Three fisherman wait patiently on the shore for their next big catch. Two Double Crested Cormorant's, and a well-known figure in the community, Bert the bronze basser. Bert is always complaining about these double crested buddies stealing all the great fish from his favorite fishing spot. Cormorant's can dive up to 24' underwater for their food, and hold their breath for as long as a minute!
