Sometimes the plan you have in mind ends up being far smaller than the plan God has in store.
This journey started when my friend Dana reached out to me to help her daughter, Kelsey, and son-in-law, Austin, find a home. Their family is incredibly close, and one of the biggest goals was finding a place where Austin and Kelsey could put down roots while staying near the people they love most.
When we started searching, we were looking for a home that would give them more space than their townhome and support the life they’re building together as they look toward the future.
The funny thing is, this home wasn’t really supposed to be “the one.”
Everyone loved it, but it felt out of reach. It was more than what we had originally been discussing, and it seemed like a long shot.
Then Dana asked me to make a few phone calls and gather some information about a unique feature of the home, a private Gen Suite that could potentially create an opportunity we hadn’t considered before.
One conversation led to another. Questions turned into possibilities. Possibilities turned into an offer. And before we knew it, Austin and Kelsey were under contract on a home that was so much more than anything we had expected.
I love moments like this because they remind me that sometimes the best outcomes are the ones we never could have planned ourselves. God has a way of opening doors that we never even thought to knock on.
I’m so grateful that Dana trusted me to help her family, and that Austin and Kelsey trusted me to walk alongside them through such an important chapter. It also means so much that John and the rest of the family welcomed me into the process as we all worked toward the same goal.
Congratulations, Austin and Kelsey. I can’t wait to watch the memories you create here, the family you build here, and all the beautiful chapters that are still ahead. ❤️🏡
