NILTaxLawyer Mark Milton was featured in KMOV's coverage of the federal effort to fix the rules around college sports and NIL.

A bipartisan bill aims to create one national set of rules. As Mark explained, only Congress can grant the NCAA an antitrust exemption, which is why these fights keep ending up in court.

His takeaway for athletes: watch how any new law defines "fair market value." It will affect what players can earn, and how that money gets taxed.

NIL income is taxable, and the rules are still evolving. We help athletes navigate the tax side and stay in compliance.

Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt is among lawmakers pushing federal legislation aimed at creating uniform rules for college athletics as lawsuits make it harder for the NCAA to enforce basic regulations.
