Milton started his career as a Trial Attorney with the Department of Justice Tax Division, in Washington, DC, via the prestigious Attorney General’s Honors Program. While with the DOJ, Mark represented the IRS in various collection matters, refund suits, and complex tax cases in federal courts throughout the United States. In 2014, Mark was awarded the DOJ’s Outstanding Trial Attorney Award. Prior

to founding Milton Law Group, Mark worked at an AmTop100 law firm in St. Louis specializing in tax controversies, white collar criminal defense, health care and securities fraud defense, corporate internal investigations, and business litigation for small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. Combining his intimate knowledge of how the IRS operates based on his Department of Justice experience and the elite representation he’s provided to Fortune 500 companies, Mark is able to merge the best of both worlds to provide trusted legal representation to individuals and small businesses. Mark Milton's second panel tomorrow at the Forensic Accounting and Disrupting Financial Crime in 2026 Conference will focus on “Income Reconstruction at the IRS and DOJ” alongside James Crowe, former Criminal Chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Financial crime is evolving rapidly, and they will be exploring complex financial investigation techniques and exactly how federal agencies reconstruct income during high-stakes regulatory enforcement and criminal cases.

This conference, hosted by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Florida Atlantic University's Center for Forensic Accounting, is an incredible opportunity to network with private and public sector experts while exploring today's most pressing threats.

Mark Milton will be speaking on two separate panels this Friday, May 15th, at the Forensic Accounting and Disrupting Financial Crime in 2026 Conference in Boca Raton, FL.

Mark will be taking the stage for his first panel, “NIL in Practice for Universities/Student-Athletes and Tax Pitfalls,” alongside Garrett Franskousky, Senior Associate Athletics Director of Compliance at Florida Atlantic Athletics. They will be diving deep into the rapidly evolving financial landscape of college sports and the critical tax traps that athletes and institutions need to avoid.

It is a tremendous honor to have our firm represented at an event co-hosted by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Florida Atlantic University's Center for Forensic Accounting.
