Taking the time to think through what’s best for you, your future, and your well-being can help you make the most informed and confident decision.

Many people think 'joint custody' means a 50/50 split, but it’s actually more complex.

Joint Legal Custody means both parents share decision-making about the child’s life.

Physical Custody refers to where the child primarily lives, and it doesn’t always mean a 50/50 time split.

The best arrangement depends on each family's situation. In many cases, a more flexible schedule works better to support the child’s needs and maintain stability. For example, one parent may have primary physical custody during the week, with the other parent getting extended time on weekends or holidays because it's what works best for everyone's schedule.
