Desert Oasis Chesapeakes/Kennels Small Family owned Kennel Okay! I have to be honest here, I never wanted a Chessie! BOY was I ever wrong! But be aware these are NOT first time dog owner dogs!

I know it's hard to believe, but I had heard enough RUMORS about them as well as personal experience to try and talk Nathan out of getting a Chessie! (For those of you who didn't know Max originally belonged to my brother in law Nathan.) I had my dad's experience with his Chessie lashing out at my pregnant mother, and a Chessie I had met at my work, who I was informed would often snap at his owner

for seemingly no reason. And living with a dozen nieces and nephews I didn't see how a Chessie would fit into the family. Though I did stop persisting and actually found a breeder just to have a puppy around. A Chesapeake raised with the right surroundings is an AMAZING family dog. Max really has a one of a kind attitude and Kyra does as well. Nor are they a great dog to be left alone at a farm! THEY NEED TO BE SOCIALIZED!! I now have two Chessies! I love this breed and I want to share them with EVERYONE!! Look for our first litter in 2016! All of our dogs will be health tested.

We have some beautiful baby girls and one boy still looking. Health tested parents, dewormed vaccinated, chipped, puppy packs, doggy door trained. The whole nine yards.

Aerith aka B.E. (Bald Eagle) had the hardest start to life. momma got scared after she had her, and bit her. :( As a result she got an infection causing her to have some disabilities. The extent of which will be evaluated after she is fully vaccinated. For now she gets free massages and sleeps in a kennel in our room.

Bonnie decided she wanted all the puppies. Lily, being an older female and first time mom she wasn't big on it. (She will be retired from breeding)
So Bonnie said I got this(she only just fed them this once lol)

It was humorous to watch 18 big ole babies try to nurse on a drying up Bon. But she loves it.

Well Bonnie and Lily both said my calender was stupid and decided now was a good time.
Last Saturday Bonnie welcomed 11 babies into the world. Unfortunately one was just too little. :(
This past Tuesday Lily welcome 8 babies. She wasn't so sure about the mommy thing, so we've been supervising her feeds. :)

All are doing well and growing.
