As citizens of Grant County, we deserve to know what approach our local law enforcement will take regarding Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order.

The attorneys of Schultheis Tabler Wallace PLLC have petitioned for redress pursuant to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution to get much-needed answers on this extremely important issue.

A copy of the Petition can be found in the comments section below.

We are pleased to see law enforcement addressing the significant constitutional concerns that have arisen since the stay-at-home order and other similar measures have been issued in response to coronavirus. In a letter issued by the Franklin County Sheriff, we see from a law enforcement perspective the conundrum the coronavirus response has created for local law enforcement.

An issue many are discussing right now is how the government’s measures for containing coronavirus have impacted our constitutional rights. The U.S. Constitution remains in effect despite the presence of coronavirus, and while these are unprecedented times we find ourselves in, our constitutional rights do not cease to exist simply because the coronavirus does.

No word yet on how the Grant County Sheriff’s Office will approach this issue, but we look forward to hearing our local law enforcement agencies weigh on this subject.

ATTORNEY SPOTLIGHT: Nicholas L. Wallace

Raised in Poulsbo, WA, from an early age Nick has always been admired for his work ethic and passion for leadership.

After earning his law degree from Seattle University, Nick joined Schultheis Tabler in 1996 as a junior associate. Fast forward 24 years, and Nick is the managing partner with an extensive knowledge of the law and an undying passion for serving his community.

Nick is not only a leader but also a mentor who leads by example. Despite a serious kidney condition, numerous surgeries, and the eventual loss of one kidney, Nick continues to power through day after day and has yet to skip a beat. Nick’s tenacity and remarkable ability to “walk the walk” is the foundation of Schultheis Tabler Wallace PLLC.

When he isn’t leading his crew at the firm, Nick enjoys fishkeeping, coaching youth soccer, and consistently hoarding African Cichlid tanks and aquarium paraphernalia. What many may not know about Nick is that his obsession with African Cichlids has infiltrated not only his office, but also his junior associate’s office and his home. Does this qualify as animal hoarding? You decide! 🤭🤣

Nick’s areas of expertise include estate planning, land use and real estate law, civil litigation, agribusiness, alternative dispute resolution, and family law. Nick is an experienced mediator with extensive knowledge of family law from the perspective of both a practitioner and judicial officer.

Together with his experienced staff, Nick focuses on helping his clients resolve their legal problems efficiently and effectively. Give Nick a call today to explore your options!

Louis Braille is most famous for developing a unique system of raised dots so that those with visual impairments could use their sense of touch to read and write.

What is most admirable about Mr. Braille is that despite the skepticism he faced about his system, he continued to develop, perfect, and utilize it because it was what worked for HIM! As it turns out, Mr. Braille’s system also worked well for many other people, and as a result, braille has remained almost unchanged 150+ years later!

Mr. Braille was a remarkable person because he found a way to adapt in order to overcome an obstacle. He used his knowledge of what worked and what didn’t, and he ran with it! We are each capable of adapting in these uncertain times we find ourselves in.

Knowledge is something adversity cannot take away from you. Knowledge is something every person can use to adapt to a difficult situation in order to find the most workable solution.

At Schultheis Tabler Wallace, we rely on our legal experience and knowledge of the court system to help you navigate your options so you can adapt to overcome your obstacles.

Just as Mr. Braille overcame adversity and found a solution that worked for him, so can you.

Give us a call to explore your options!

Grant County is a force to be reckoned with in the farming world. Farmers and their contributions are vital to our rural community and our local, state, and national economy.

The Census of Agriculture is conducted every five years in the United States, with the most recent census in 2017. In 2017, Grant County harvested 94,746 total acres of vegetables for sale, the most in Washington state!

Grant County was #1 in total acres of potatoes, sweet corn, and green peas harvested for sale, and #2 behind Benton County for total acres of dry onions harvested for sale.
