Hi, I’m Rhese! 👋 I’m the person behind a lot of what you see on The Bucio Firm’s social media and blog.

Today is my last day with the firm before I head to England for grad school! I’ve spent the past few months working on the Creating Puzzles guidebook project, creating content, and helping bring the firm’s stories and work to life online.

Today is the last day for Kendall (and Icarus 🐾) before they head to OSU!

Big win at the Bucio Firm this week!

Our client, a 14-year veteran, was originally facing up to 25 years in prison after being convicted of two F1s and two F4s.

Through extensive fact-checking, our team negotiated a significantly different outcome: an F3 and an F4 with a potential sentence of only 4.5 years, none of which was mandatory.

After sentencing, we pursued judicial release and presented the Court with a clear plan for our client's continued mental health treatment and successful return to the community.

Filled with courtroom stories from Chris Bucio’s career, lessons learned, and notes on navigating the challenges of a criminal investigation, those pages slowly became chapters. And those chapters eventually became the guidebook we’re so excited to share with you.

We're proud to be part of the defense team in one of Ohio's most closely watched criminal cases.

This week, the Aliza Sherman case returned to court for a significant pretrial hearing. The defense addressed several important issues involving the State's evidence and the scope of what may ultimately be presented at trial. These are the kinds of legal questions that can shape a case long before a jury is ever seated.

One of the most significant moments of the hearing came during Chris Bucio's cross-examination of a key witness—the former best friend who also served as a private investigator for Aliza Sherman's estranged husband.

During that testimony, the witness acknowledged that, before Ms. Sherman's murder, her estranged husband had been recording conversations, having her followed, and seeking information about how to commit the "perfect murder."

Chris's breakthrough examination of this key witness has since been highlighted by Court TV as part of its coverage of the case.
