This Memorial Day, we respectfully remember the men and women who gave their lives serving our nation. We honor their courage, sacrifice, and the families who continue to bear that loss. May we never take for granted the freedoms secured by those who gave everything.

Just a friendly public service thought…

Please don’t assume your spouse will automatically receive everything if something happens to you.

You need a will.

We have seen families devastated not only by grief, but by the surprise of learning there was no Will and the law controlled who inherited what.

Imagine you’re surviving spouse only recovering 1/3 of any money.

This can be especially hard in blended families, with adult children, or when an older surviving spouse depended on the deceased for financial support.

A simple Will and a little planning can make an enormous difference for the people you love most.

We don’t handle wills or estates — just sharing this because we have seen the difficult situations families can face when planning was never done.

Just a friendly public service thought…

If you’re raising children together, please don’t assume “everything will just work out” if tragedy strikes.

We have seen situations where a hardworking parent and breadwinner dies unexpectedly, and because the parents weren’t married or there was no planning in place, the surviving parent faces serious financial hardship while trying to raise the children.

Consider marriage. The surviving parent may not recover in this situation.

Marriage, wills, trusts, beneficiary choices, and simple planning conversations can matter more than many people realize.

We don’t handle wills or estates — just sharing this in hopes of helping families think ahead before they ever need to.
