A few hurricane tips for homeowner’s insurance:
Check that your policy is active, like, now. Your insurance company probably has an online portal or 24/7 service.
If your policy is active, make sure you know what it covers.
Tomorrow morning (Thursday October 8th, 2026), Tropical Storm Isaias (maybe hurricane by then) will still be hanging out in the water, not close to land, which is good!!
That means tomorrow morning will not be hurricane weather (good weather for pictures!!!) and you can, and should, take videos and pictures of the exterior and interior of your home.
Save those to a cloud drive (in case your phone goes swimming, cliff diving, or otherwise) and timestamp the videos/pictures.
Now, if you do get hurricane damage and have to file a claim, you have proof of what your house looked like inside and outside prior to the storm.
Any questions?
