Starting a business or filing a trademark on your own can feel like a smart way to save money — until a small mistake turns into a major problem. We regularly speak with business owners who formed their own corporation or LLC online, only to later discover issues with ownership structure, operating formalities, stock issuance, contracts, compliance requirements, or liability protection.
