🏡 WHAT IF YOU COULD KEEP YOUR LOW MORTGAGE RATE WHEN YOU MOVE?
Imagine buying a new home without automatically giving up the 2.5%, 3%, or 3.5% mortgage rate you locked in years ago.
That’s the idea behind the MOVE Act (H.R. 10028) — the Making Ownership Viable for Everyone Act.
Many homeowners want to move, but today's higher mortgage rates make it difficult to sell their current home and afford another one. Families need more space, empty nesters want to downsize, and people need to relocate for work or family — yet their mortgage can keep them stuck.
🏠The proposed MOVE Act could allow qualifying homeowners to transfer their existing mortgage terms to a replacement property, subject to the legislation's requirements.
Potential benefits could include:
âś… More flexibility for homeowners
âś… More existing homes coming onto the market
âś… More opportunities for growing families and first-time buyers
âś… Greater movement in the housing market
Important: This is proposed legislation, not an available benefit today.
As a Utah real estate professional, I believe this is an idea worth discussing. Homeownership should give families options as their lives change.
I'm interested in hearing what you think:
If you could keep your current mortgage rate when buying your next home, would you be more likely to move? 👇
