As the housing market continues to change, you may be wondering where it’ll go from here.
A recent survey from Zonda shows 53% of millennials are still renting right now because they’re waiting for home prices to come down. But here’s the thing: the most recent data shows that home prices appear to have bottomed out and are now on the rise again.
February 2023 National Home Prices
Home prices nationwide, including distressed sales, increased year over year by 4.4% in February 2023 compared with February 2022. On a month-over-month basis, home prices increased by 0.8 % in February 2023 compared with January 2023 (revisions with public records data are standard, and to ensure accuracy, CoreLogic incorporates the newly released public data to provide updated results).
Forecast Prices Nationally
The CoreLogic HPI Forecast indicates that home prices will increase on a month-over-month basis by 0.2% from February 2023 to March 2023 and increase on a year-over-year basis by 3.7% from February 2023 to February 2024.
