This is a new one. If you have solar and are tired of more taxes then read below and attend the meeting.
"Many California solar owners could face higher property taxes in 2027 if state lawmakers don't act quickly.
A higher property tax could be triggered if you:
• Add a battery to your existing system
• Add more solar panels on your roof
• Install a new rooftop solar system
Please tell your state legislators to vote YES on AB 2389, which would Stop the Solar Property Tax.
Tell Them: No Solar Property Tax : https://solarrights.org/solar-property-tax-1/
Here are the details in a short video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/FIws7nmeN1o
A Solar Property Tax makes no sense
Putting rooftop solar on your home doesn’t add costs to your city or county. In fact, rooftop solar reduces strain on the electrical grid and prevents blackouts.
For 40 years, the state Legislature has ensured that your property taxes won’t go up if you put solar on your roof or a battery in your garage.
However, that protection will expire by the end of the year. The Legislature must act now to extend the solar property tax exemption by passing AB 2389 (Irwin).
Thank you for all you do, and please holler with questions!
