First new happy homeowner of 2026. LFG!! Get comfortable. This is a good one. Rey came to us over a year ago telling us that he wanted to get out of section 8 housing with his son. He only had a few requirements. He was a single dad, he had an extremely large dog, VA buyer and a small budget. Easy, right? Not so much in San Diego. We scoured homes in San Diego and Temecula/Murrieta. Most condos were out because well, big dog and VA. Most houses were out because well- small budget. Fast forward to the week before the Christmas holidays. WAIT! No one buys houses during the holidays!! Rey spotted his dream home. But so did about 13 other people. So we had to get really creative with his offer and really competitive. With an incredible team behind us of a top-notch lender in our back pocket and our rockstar transaction coordinator, and the best home inspector, Rey got the house and on New Year’s Eve day, Rey closed escrow. No more section 8 housing for Rey ever. On Saturday, Rey’s son told us, “Dad, I wanna live here forever”. You can’t make this sh*t up. Rey is a miracle. Trish & I are so incredibly grateful to be able to be a part of this journey.
