This Thursday, the Onsite Pro Development team is looking forward to joining AGC San Diego at their Lakeside headquarters for the Fall Festival & Car Show, hosted by the Construction Leadership Council!

We've enjoyed AGC's classic car shows over the years, and this year, we're getting even more to look forward to! Along with the classic cars and hot rods, we'll be enjoying some fall festival fun, delicious food, and another great opportunity to connect with fellow construction industry professionals.

⚡Standing room only in Las Vegas on Wednesday!

Over 100 people at the National Convention packed in for Pam Scholefield’s presentation on “Getting It All Done” by using your PERSONAL CRITICAL PATH, and the energy in that room was terrific!

The topic? Something nearly every construction professional can relate to: How do you get it all done without sacrificing your life outside of work?

Here's the idea that got them leaning in. Your brain hunts down and confirms whatever it believes is important to you. Tell it you're too busy to have a life, and it will go find the evidence. Every late night, every canceled plan, every lost Saturday becomes proof. Change the story to "I have plenty of time" and watch what happens. Your brain helps you design the path that gets you there.

Structure is key. 🗝️ Give your brain a scheduled time to check emails and do the other important work you have, and it stops worrying that it's missing something. No more FOMO running in the background taxing your brain.

And multitasking? It doesn't exist. Your brain is really switching back and forth in an instant giving itself whiplash, and one three-second glance at a text costs you 20 minutes to re-focus.

You could see it click with the audience. Folks stayed after the session ended to talk about how to lead their work instead of letting it lead them.

So, build a week your brain can trust. A week that tells the truth: you can handle your workload and whatever comes your way without crushing yourself under long hours and missed weekends.

At 22, Amber bought her first home. But getting there looked very different from what she had always imagined.

She wasn’t making a six-figure salary, and there wasn’t one big financial breakthrough that suddenly made homeownership possible overnight. Instead, it came down to an aggressive saving method, some help along the way, and eventually being willing to rethink what her first home needed to look like.

After attending The Next Horizon and hearing the conversation around housing affordability for young professionals, Amber began reflecting on her own path to homeownership and what made a goal that once felt so far out of reach become possible.

Honoring Native American Day

Before California was California- before the industry, the infrastructure, the contracts- this land had people. Nations with their own languages, laws, and ways of life. More than 100 federally recognized Tribal Nations call this state home, and that presence endured.

This day is a reminder to pause, acknowledge that history honestly, and make the effort to learn something we might not have known before.

⚡ What a great afternoon with the NECA crew!

Yesterday, the Onsite Pro Development and Scholefield Construction Law teams had a great time at the Electrical Industry Barbecue & Open House, catching up with familiar faces after the summer break from NECA meetings, meeting new people, and enjoying some seriously delicious barbecue! 🍖

The conversations were great, but one of the highlights of the afternoon was getting a look inside the Electrical Training Institute and seeing so many apprentices training for careers in the electrical industry.

We all hear about the need to bring more young people into the skilled trades, so it was especially encouraging to see just how many apprentices are already learning, training, and building careers in the electrical industry. ⚡

Thank you to everyone who helped put together such a great afternoon. It was good to be back with the NECA San Diego community, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!
