🇲🇽 Mexico Residency Fee Update (2025)
Mexico has officially updated the fees for temporary and permanent residency. All options—1 to 4 years for temporary cards and the permanent card—now cost slightly more. These new fees apply to new applications, renewals, and anyone finishing the process after their consulate visa.

Important: Consulate fees abroad may vary, but INM fees in Mexico are now standardized under the new chart. If you’re planning to start or renew your residency, make sure to check the updated fees and budget for the changes before your appointment.

Good info to know!

🇲🇽 Important Update for Vehicle Owners & Residents in Mexico

More states are beginning to require an RFC Constancia tax summary doc when registering vehicles. While not yet mandatory everywhere, the Mex govt is pushing for it — so it’s smart to get ahead of it now.

💳 Insurance Tip:
Most Mexican insurance companies will only pay out total loss or theft claims to a Mexican bank account, which requires an RFC Constancia. They also usually only pay the registered vehicle owner, so double-check your policy details.

📄 Residency Reminder:
As of August 2024, all legal residents and citizens must have an active RFC, even if they have no income in Mexico — it will simply show “without financial obligations.”

👉 Having your RFC, bank account, and registration in order helps you avoid headaches when filing claims, selling your car, or getting refunds.

Other updated and RFC and Mex bank required situations:
-Selling you Mex property
-Selling a car to a dealership
-Airbnb-ing your prop (RFC only)
-Returns-anytime they can't refund to your card (typically after 30 days)

Make your life easier, get the updated RFC efirma and a Mex bank account (that's another post lol!)
