CCA trains farmworkers to form and lead community-based committees to advocate for improved housing and health conditions. Our Vision

A community where farm workers are empowered to serve as leaders and where community decision makers seek the counsel of these farm worker leaders. Our Core Values

Inclusiveness: CCA is dedicated to promote an environment in which communities provide resources that foster leadership development among farmworkers such that they serve as leaders and participate in community building and decision making. Equity: CCA promotes communication and dialogue among farm workers, agricultural and housing businesses, politicians, visionaries, investors/funders and community leaders. In doing so, CCA builds links across sectors, and strengthens mutual understanding to foster equity in the communities it serves and supports.

Join us every Thursday from September 9, 2026 to November 5, 2026!! In collaboration with the Monterey County Child Abuse Prevention Council to create a space to talk about mental, well-being, and self-care. As well as to learn together and strengthen our community.🌱

You will be able to share, learn, and discover tools to care for yourself and your well-being!

Exciting news!!!🎉

September 29, 2026, Ensen Community Park was host to a Yoga event as part of the Healthy Lifestyle Sub-Committee with Friends of Ensen. This event was also a collaboration between the Center for Community Advocacy, Big Sur Land Trust, and Friends of Ensen in order to bring activities/events to the community and to boost the newly restored park.

This is a great opportunity to have fun with friends and family, so look out for more events to come!!! 💚

Septiembre 29, 2026, El Parque Comunitario de Ensen presentó un evento de Yoga por parte del Subcomité de Estilo de Vida Saludable con Amigos de Ensen. Este evento fue una colaboración entre el Centro de Abogacía de la Comunidad, Big Sur Land Trust, y Amigos de Ensen para traer actividades/eventos para la comunidad y activar el parque recién restaurado.

¡¡Buenas Noticias!!🎉

Este fin de semana pasado el Centro de Abogacía de la Comunidad recibió la oportunidad de llevar a 43 participantes al Zoológico de San Francisco de parte de nuestra beca con El Programa de Subvenciones para la Equidad al Aire Libre. La beca de este programa nos permitirá llevar a familias donde pueden explorar y conocer de los espacios abiertos. También, para promover la importancia de cuidar el medio ambiente para poder preservar lo bonito de la naturaleza y los hábitats de los animales.

¡Seguiremos compartiendo estas oportunidades con la comunidad en el futuro! Por favor compartan su amor y sigan con su apoyo!💚

This past weekend the Center for Community Advocacy was given the opportunity to take 43 participants on a field trip to the San Francisco Zoo as part of our Outdoor Equity Program Grant. The OEP Grant allows us to give families a chance to explore and learn about the outdoors. As well as to promote the importance of taking care of our environment and to preserve the beautiful nature and animal habitats we are surrounded by.

We will continue to share opportunities like these for our community in the future! Please share your love and support with us!!!💚

Estuvimos presentes y apoyando en la gran inauguración del área de restauración del Ensen Community Park en Salinas. Nos sentimos profundamente honrados y agradecidos por recibir este reconocimiento especial por nuestra labor y compromiso continuo con nuestras familias.

Un agradecimiento grande a nuestro increíble equipo, voluntarios, y a nuestros aliados estratégicos como Big Sur Land Trust y la Ciudad de Salinas por hacer de este espacio un lugar más verde, seguro y lleno de vida para todos.

🔍 Wondering what we’ve been up to? We have been busy advocating for the rights to habitable housing for our community!

The Center for Community Advocacy is collaborating with tenant groups to ensure everyone knows their rights and responsibilities, as well as the obligations of property owners. Right now, 30 families in a King City complex are facing serious habitability issues.

Tenants have reported urgent problems like mold, damaged floors, windows without screens, and infestations of cockroaches and mice. Despite their many requests, the property owners have not made the necessary repairs to ensure safe living conditions.

The affected tenants are now requesting a meeting with the property owners to address these issues and find solutions for their families. CCA will continue to advocate and support them in their fight for safe and dignified housing.

🔍 ¿Se pregunta qué hemos estado haciendo? ¡Hemos estado trabajando arduamente para defender el derecho de nuestra comunidad a una vivienda en condiciones habitables!

El Center for Community Advocacy (CCA) colabora con grupos de inquilinos para asegurar que todos conozcan sus derechos y responsabilidades, así como las obligaciones de los propietarios. Actualmente, 30 familias de un complejo residencial en King City enfrentan graves problemas de habitabilidad.

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

We're thrilled to share that we received the Excellence Award for our outstanding work on the Safe Routes to School project (TAMC)! 🎉

This initiative has not only enhanced the safety of our families and students, but it has also empowered community leadership through the CCA. Over the past 18 months, dedicated community members have actively participated in planning meetings, resulting in important improvements like roundabouts and street line paintings in key areas. 🚸

Additionally, we formed a community committee to address the need for street repairs to ensure student safety. Thanks to the CCA, we were able to conduct a voting process that engaged the community, resulting in an amazing 999 votes! 🗳️

Nos complace anunciar que recibimos el Premio a la Excelencia por nuestra destacada labor en el proyecto Rutas Seguras a la Escuela (TAMC).

Esta iniciativa no solo ha mejorado la seguridad de nuestras familias y estudiantes, sino que también ha fortalecido el liderazgo comunitario a través del CCA. Durante los últimos 18 meses, miembros comprometidos de la comunidad han participado activamente en las reuniones de planificación, lo que ha dado como resultado mejoras importantes como rotondas y la pintura de las líneas de las calles en zonas clave.

Además, formamos un comité comunitario para abordar la necesidad de realizar reparaciones en las calles y garantizar la seguridad de los estudiantes. Gracias al CCA, pudimos llevar a cabo un proceso de votación que involucró a la comunidad, ¡con un resultado sorprendente de 999 votos!
