randfather, an herbalist, named Dr. Wah Hing (born Yee Fung Cheung), arrived in California during the Gold Rush, and while practicing in Sacramento, he had his most famous patient, Jane Stanford, the wife of Gov. Michael’s grandfather, a retired dentist, Herbert Yee is also a long-time land park resident, commercial real estate investor and community leader. Herbert Yee spent 54 years in the dental profession, including his time as the official dentist for the staff of two governors – Pat Brown and Ronald Reagan. Herbert also served as president of the California State Board of Dental Examiners, regent of the University of Pacific, president of the UOP Dental School Alumni Association, president of the Sacramento Chinese Benevolent Association, and president of the Yee Fong Toy family association. Michael chose the legal field instead of the medical field to better serve his family’s commercial property investments and help families looking for legal expertise in the areas of estate planning. Michael moved his main office to one of his family’s locations in the land park area. Michael enjoys sitting down with families to educate them on the benefits of having an estate plan in place and guides families who have lost loved ones that may need help navigating through the process of probate or trust administration. When Michael isn’t working, he loves spending time with his family and going on vacations to Lake Tahoe or exploring other countries. Among his many engagements, Michael Yee is legal counsel for multiple real estate investment companies and active in the community serving on various boards.
