โ๏ธMy name is Corinne Griffin. I am originally from Orlando, Florida, but consider Colorado my home. I am a rising 3L at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, Colorado. At CU Law, I am an advanced clinical student in the American Indian Law Clinic, working primarily on international Indigenous Peoples' rights and cultural and natural resource issues. I am a note editor for the Colorado Environmental Law Journal, where I wrote my note about Mining Law and Indigenous rights in four Western States, an Honors Council Board member, a research assistant for the Getches-Wilkinson Center of Natural Resources, and serve on the Barristers Council for International Moot Court.

โ๏ธMy mother is a social worker and exposed me to her life in the service of others. This experience led me to want to be an advocate for those who experience injustice under the law. I became specifically interested in Indigenous and Indian Law when I took an International Environmental Justice class in college, where my professor focused on Indigenous Peoples in Africa and Oceania who were experiencing environmental issues.

โ๏ธI am interested in learning as much as I can about the different fields and sections of Indian law in pursuit of a career in working alongside Tribe's on cultural property, natural resource protection, and other Indigenous sovereignty issues. Peebles Bergin offers the opportunity to learn about all of these sections of Indian Law and other important aspects such as corporate law and governance.

โ๏ธIn my free time, I love playing beach volleyball. Although there are no beaches in Colorado, I have still found sand courts to play on! I have won an intramural championship and was the captain of a 2x intra-law school sand volleyball championship!

โ๏ธIf I weren't pursuing a career in law, I would likely be an environmental scientist focusing on environmental justice issues. I received an Environmental Science degree from the University of Florida and wrote my honors thesis on environmental justice concerns in five marginalized communities in America during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
