Great way to start the week!

I don’t post every review I receive, but this one really means a lot to me.

A client recently wrote about her experience working with me as a trans woman and how important it was to her that she felt comfortable, respected, and treated like a person first.

That’s something I care deeply about. People come to me during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Whoever you are, you should be able to walk into your lawyer’s office, be yourself, and know that you’re going to be treated with dignity and without judgment.

After 2 years of batting an Attempted Murder case in St. Clair County, we were finally able to put this behind my client and his family after he was deemed Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity due to a severe Intellectual Disability no one else seemed to care about.

Change of plea hearing with Judge Helmick.

Two huge wins this week. Two clients whose futures look very different today than they did when they first walked into my office.

In Genesee County, my client was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance involving alleged ketamine possession and paraphernalia. After a hard-fought battle, that felony drug case was reduced all the way down to an unregistered vehicle misdemeanor.

No felony.
No drug conviction.
No fines.
No costs.

That is an incredible result in a case that could have followed my client for years.

In Washtenaw County, we secured HYTA approval from the prosecutor's office in an Accosting a Minor for Immoral Purposes case. The stakes were enormous: possible jail or prison, lengthy probation, a felony conviction, and 25 years on the SORA registry.

Instead, this client now has a path forward:

No SORA registration.
No jail.
No public criminal record after successfully completing probation.
