St. James, MO to Welcome New Amazon Last-Mile Facility
St. James, Missouri – Nov. 12, 2025 – The City of St. James, Missouri is pleased to announce plans for Amazon to expand its operational investments in Missouri with the construction of an 80,000 square-foot delivery station at 925 N. Jefferson Street. This will increase delivery speeds for customers in Phelps County and surrounding areas, and is part of the company’s $4 billion investment to expand its delivery network in rural communities across the country.
“This is a great day for St. James,” said St. James Mayor Rick Krawiecki. “Amazon’s decision to expand here reflects the strength of our workforce, the quality of our infrastructure, and our city’s position as a leader in innovation and business growth. We’re proud to welcome Amazon and look forward to the opportunities this facility will bring to our residents and local businesses.”
Delivery stations power the last mile of Amazon’s order process and help speed up deliveries. Packages are shipped to a delivery station from neighboring Amazon Fulfillment and Sortation Centers, loaded into delivery vehicles, and delivered to customers. This facility in St. James is expected to create approximately 100 jobs once open, in addition to more driving opportunities through Delivery Service Partner (DSP) and Amazon Flex programs. These will join the more than 9,500 Amazon employees throughout the state of Missouri.
“Due to a great partnership with the City of St. James, we’re proud to create job growth and career opportunities for this dedicated workforce in the region,” said Amazon Economic Development Manager Jason Vangalis. “Amazon continues to grow its investment in Missouri, which has been more than $7.1+ billion since 2010, and this planned last-mile facility in St. James will help increase delivery speeds for and our valued customers.”
Construction is slated to begin in the coming weeks with launch plans for this delivery station in the very early stages with an expected opening later in 2026. Employees at Amazon’s U.S. customer fulfilment and transportation employees earn an average across the country of $23 per hour and starting wages for the St. James facility will be determined closer to launch.

About City of St. James
Nestled in the heart of the Ozarks, St. James, MO, has a rich history rooted in railroad expansion, viticulture, and a strong sense of community. The town was originally established in the 1850s and was first known as Big Prairie. With the construction of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway (Frisco) through the area in 1860, the town began to take shape and thrive. It was soon renamed St. James in honor of Thomas James, a prominent early supporter of the region’s development and founder of the nearby Maramec Iron Works—one of the earliest ironworks west of the Mississippi.
