Everbright Legacy Law

Everbright Legacy Law We are a Richfield, Minnesota based elder law firm focused on planning that honors your wishes and safeguards your legacy.

Everbright Legacy Law was founded by attorneys Sarah B. Sicheneder and Lauren Fink with a clear vision: to provide Minnesota families with truly comprehensive elder law services that address not only legal needs but also the complete challenges associated with aging, disability, and long-term care. After years of practicing elder law at a traditional firm, Sarah and Lauren identified a significant

gap in services. Clients required more than just legal documents; they needed assistance in navigating care options, understanding government benefits, coordinating with healthcare providers, and managing the emotional complexities of aging and family caregiving. Traditional law firms could not offer this level of support. In response, we developed a different model. By integrating licensed clinical social workers directly into our legal practice, we established Minnesota’s first and only Life Care Planning firm, where legal expertise and care coordination work seamlessly together. Today, we serve families throughout Minnesota from our Richfield office, providing the comprehensive support that aging families truly need.

There's no better way to mark Elder Law Month than by spending it with colleagues who care deeply about Minnesota's aging families.

Last week, Everbright Legacy Law was proud to participate in the 2026 Medical Assistance Conference hosted by Minnesota CLE. Lauren Fink served as Conference Co-Chair and presented a breakout session on using QDROs and LLCs to improve asset treatment. Noble Simpson joined a plenary panel on litigation lessons in Medical Assistance law. Cassie Iverson led a breakout session on preparing Medical Assistance applications, where a single missing document can change everything.

Elder Law Month is a reminder of why this work matters. Every conversation, every case, and every application helps a family access the care they need with dignity. We're grateful to learn alongside others committed to the same goal.

One thing every family should do this week:
Pick a family safe word. Use it any time someone calls claiming to be a family member in trouble. If the caller cannot say the word, the call is not real. It is free. It takes a minute. And it stops a scam category that costs families thousands every year.

It is one of the most common calls in Minnesota right now: someone claiming to be from the Social Security Administration, telling an older adult that their benefits are about to be cut off.

Guardianship doesn't have to be permanent.

In Minnesota, every adult under guardianship has the right to petition for restoration of their rights. It's a path that's underused and undertalked about, and it should be the goal of every guardianship case.
