It always starts with trust. ⚖️
Two friends in Reno shake hands on a business idea. No contract, because why would they need one? They’ve known each other for years.
A few months later, a contractor shows up to remodel the kitchen. The price was agreed on over the phone, the timeline was “a few weeks,” and nothing was ever signed.
Across town, siblings gather after their mother passes. Everyone knows the house was supposed to go to the oldest... at least, that’s what everyone thought she said.
Down the street, a tenant signs a lease the same way most of us do. Scroll, skim, sign. Nobody reads page six.
And somewhere in between, two business partners are celebrating their best year yet, right up until the conversation turns to who put in more and who should get paid first.
None of these people set out to end up in court. They were just trusting, hopeful, and busy. That’s exactly why these are some of the most common reasons people in Reno get sued.
If any part of this story felt familiar, good. That means it’s not too late. 👀
