My career path isn't typical — and that's exactly why I can do what I do.

I spent 15+ years inside legal operations before becoming a software engineer.

Along the way, I kept seeing the same problem:

A vendor sells the software.
Someone else migrates the data.
The firm gets trained.

You didn't get bad vendors. You got a business model designed to leave that role empty.

Every person in that chain did exactly what they were contracted to do. The software company sold the platform. The implementation partner moved the data. The customization partner modified what you asked for. The trainer showed your staff where the buttons were. IT kept the lights on.

Nobody failed. Nobody was ever hired to design how your workflows should move, connect your tools to each other, or make sure your team was trained on a system built for your firm — not the vendor's default configuration. Your firm didn't buy the wrong software. It bought the right software for a workflow that doesn't exist yet.

Every vendor demo looks the same: clean dashboard, cases moving automatically, staff working with clarity. Firms buy it. They turn it on. Three weeks later, same manual follow-up, same routing confusion, same staff doing the work the system was supposed to handle. Not because the technology failed.

Because there was no operational design underneath it for the technology to run on. AI cannot analyze a process that was never mapped. Automation cannot execute a rule that was never written. The tools are functional. The foundation is missing.
