Mirador Law is proud to support Legal Access Alameda as a Guardian of Justice.

Legal Access is the pro bono arm of the Alameda County Bar Association. Through more than 30 free legal clinics each month, it connects low-income Alameda County residents with volunteer attorneys in family law, housing, guardianship, bankruptcy, and more. As public funding for community services continues to shrink, that work matters more, not less.

A person's access to justice should not depend on what they can afford. We are glad to stand behind an organization working to make that true in our own community.

A little time outside the office and out on the course. ⛳

Mirador Law's Colin Brown recently joined friends and family for the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce's annual Golf Outing at Callippe Preserve Golf Course. The Chamber's signature fundraising event brings together local business and community members for a day of golf, connection, and a little friendly competition.

We're always glad to see Team Mirador getting involved in the communities where we live and work.

Join us on October 1st at The Terrace Room in Oakland for Legal Access Alameda's annual Justice For All fundraiser. The evening brings together the staff, volunteers, donors, and supporters who keep Legal Access running. Every dollar raised goes toward free legal services for low-income Alameda County residents facing housing, family, and financial crises without an attorney.

Megan Burns spent the weekend as a trial mentor at SFTLA's Women's Trial College, working one-on-one with attorneys preparing to take their cases to trial.

The small mentor groups gave those attorneys room to get specific about their cases and to pressure-test the choices they'll have to make in front of a jury.

The faculty did the same for each other. Megan Burns, Elinor Leary, Elise Sanguinetti, Andje Medina, Vanessa Deniston, and Christa Ramey traded ideas and best practices all weekend, and cheered each other on while doing it.

Thank you to SFTLA, Sandra Ribera, and to Elinor, Elise, Andje, Vanessa, and Christa. This is what it looks like when women trial lawyers lift each other up.

Voir dire can shape the direction of a trial even before opening statements begin.

On September 29, Mirador Law’s Megan Burns and Emily Dahm will join John Roach and Carol Bauss for SFTLA’s virtual MCLE, “Voir Dire That Works.” The panel will share strategies for getting jurors to talk, navigating cause and peremptory challenges, using written questionnaires, and addressing Batson-Wheeler issues in the courtroom.

We're excited to welcome Luis Landeros to Mirador Law as our new Senior Litigation Attorney.

Luis has spent his career representing people in personal injury cases, and he understands the responsibility that comes with stepping into someone's life after a serious injury. His legal career grew from a foundation at Stanford University and UC Berkeley School of Law, and his experience since then has prepared him for the complex litigation our team takes on every day.
