Palm Springs really said: farmers market, but make it fabulous. 🍅🌴

Went this morning and honestly, everything was showing off. The tomatoes. The berries. The peppers. Even the damn dill was photogenic 🫐🌽🥑🧄🫚🍠🌶️

And because it’s August in Palm Springs, the whole thing is indoors with air conditioning — because we’re not completely insane. 😂

Fresh, local, colorful and one of the best ways to spend a Saturday morning in the desert and get a fresh shot of wheatgrass 🙃

Only in Palm Springs. 🛸🌴

I’ve always thought the Bob Hope house looked like a UFO that landed on the mountain. Apparently Bob Hope thought so too. 😂

One of those Palm Springs houses you can spot from a mile away — and never get tired of looking at.

Architecture, Hollywood history and real estate all rolled into one. This is why I love this town.

Long before Palm Springs became a design pilgrimage destination, Bob Hope commissioned legendary architect John Lautner to build something truly unlike anything else — a 23,000 sq ft estate perched high above the desert with a sweeping UFO-like copper roof inspired by the surrounding mountains. Completed in 1979, the home featured enormous glass walls, giant indoor boulders, dramatic circular skylights, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, spas, ponds, putting greens, and panoramic views stretching across the Coachella Valley. Louis Vuitton even staged a major runway show on the property in 2015. Despite its architectural icon status, the estate took years to find the right buyer before selling in 2016 for $13 million to billionaire Ron Burkle. Today the property is valued at around $16 million.

Buyers have a little breathing room, sellers still have value, and the desert market keeps moving.

Two days ago I was frying in frickin’ Palm Springs. 🥵

So I jumped in the car and headed to Solana Beach. 🌊

Walked on the beach, wandered into the cutest little bookstore, checked out the Del Mar racetrack, and reminded myself how lucky we are to live in California.

One day it’s desert sunsets. The next it’s ocean breezes.

☀️ Heat Hibernation

If you know, you know. 🥵

This isn't summer... it's Lockdown Zombie Heat.

☀️ Dog walks at sunrise.
🛒 Trader Joe's before 9.
😴 Afternoon siestas.
💪 Home workouts.
🌡️ Thermostat negotiations. ("Can we leave it at 78?")
🧊 Ice packs in the middle of the night.
🚿 Running the shower... not to get hot water, but to get cold water. 😂
🚗 Forgetting the windshield shade... and sacrificing one thigh to the leather seat. 🔥🤣

We aren't snowed in...

We're heat hibernating.
