Over the years, I have seen a number of estate planning mistakes come through our office. Most are not the result of carelessness. They usually happen because people do not realize how much goes into making an estate plan work properly.
A trust may be outdated. Assets may never have been transferred into the trust. Important financial or medical documents may be missing. Sometimes, people have relied on generic forms without realizing that their individual circumstances required something more.
