Thursday Thoughts 💭 | Walk #11
This morning, I did not want to get up.
I told myself I deserved a morning off. And maybe I did.
But I got up anyway.
Day 11 of weighing in, and today I saw my best results yet. It would’ve been really easy to look at that progress and say, “Good enough. Take the morning off.”
Instead, I walked (joaq’d)
That doesn’t mean I’m completing every goal. Last night, I wanted to watch Ted Lasso, so I did. 😂 It’s one of those feel-good shows for me.
I’m realizing there’s a difference between giving yourself something you want and giving yourself an excuse.
Consistency doesn’t have to mean perfection.
Last night, my 10-year-old had vocabulary words like profit, risk, loans and wages. Naturally, he wanted to talk about Fortnite instead. 😂
So Fortnite became the lesson—and eventually we got to wants vs. needs.
That’s something adults need to think about too, especially when planning for a major purchase.
I’m not really talking about real estate today. I’m talking about what happens before real estate.
What do you want?
What do you need?
What can you actually afford?
What are you willing to work toward?
Hopefully, if you’ve been following me, you’ve noticed that I keep coming back to those questions. They’re important to me, and they’re questions I’d encourage you to have with any real estate professional you choose to work with.
The house search doesn’t have to be the first step.
Sometimes the first step is simply getting honest about where you are and where you want to go.
Walk #11.
Still walking. 🚶♂️
Still Joaquin.
