Learner Permits for 15-16 year olds must be held for at least 6 months prior to obtaining an Intermediate License. For a 15-16-year-old to obtain a Learner Permit, the following documentation is required:

✅ Primary ID - One primary proof of identification

✅ Social Security number - Physical card is not required.

✅ A parent or legal guardian - If you are under the age of 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian with you. If a parent is not present, you must bring in a notarized Parent Authorization Form to obtain a new License.

✅ Proof of Purchase, Enrollment Contract, or Completion Certificate.

Bring in your enrollment contract or completion certificate from the Commercial or public Driver Education school that you are attending or have attended.

If you do not have the above and were taught by a parent, then you must bring the Parent Taught Affidavit (email printout) WITH the Parent Taught Driver’s Ed Purchase Receipt.

Service Oklahoma is warning Oklahomans about fake text messages purporting to be from government agencies such as the Department of Motor Vehicles. These messages may claim you owe money for tolls or traffic violations and threaten license suspension or legal action. If you receive a suspicious message:

- Do not click links or respond
- Do not share personal or financial information
- If you clicked a link or submitted information, take steps immediately to secure your accounts
