Buyers in DuPage County are asking the same question this spring: where are the homes? New listings are trickling in, but not fast enough to keep up with demand, and the shortage is shaping how this market feels on the ground. What adds to the importance of this situation is that the demand from buyers has not diminished to align with it.

A buyer who waited even one year, say from April 2025 to April 2026, paid $25,000 more for the same type of home. Prices haven’t spiked dramatically in any single year, but the steady, consistent growth is exactly what makes waiting so costly. The market doesn’t need another boom to leave buyers behind.
