This continues to be an issue:
"Fraudulent Calls Regarding Bail
Another scam has also been reported to be occurring in South Carolina. Scammers will review public records to find a person who has recently been arrested and remains incarcerated. The
scammer will call a member of the jailed person’s family, demanding immediate payment by gift card, credit card, Venmo, Zelle, or other service to obtain the release of the jailed person.
Although in some instances a person may be required to pay bail prior to being released from jail, court personnel and law enforcement will never contact a family member about the payment of bail."

Please understand that law enforcement is not going to call a family member about bail/bond. Don't get scammed! The best thing you can do is contact an attorney if someone you care about is charged with a crime and ends up in a detention center.

Please do not drink alcohol (or take controlled substances) to the point of impairment and operate a motor vehicle (or boat). Tragedies like the death of these 2 young women are a reminder of just how quickly numerous lives can change in an instant. Our local municipalities take the prosecution of DUI cases very seriously and, as evident by the comments of Mayor Cogswell and CPD, the City plans to increase enforcement efforts even further.

New checkpoints aimed at catching drunken driving will be set up around Charleston as city attempts to crack down after two women were killed in a hit-and-run.

Legal Matter
Mr. Skipper represented me on a matter where the cards were stacked against me for reasons other than evidence. He worked diligently and was intentional in his performance to get the matter resolved by shining a big light on the matter which cause my case to be dismissed entirely. He was responsive and listened to my concerns. He's extremely thorough and well versed on the law. He alleviated a lot of stress while handling my case, He has the resources to perform investigations if needed and track witnesses. Ben Sawyer Blvd/Center Street
Coleman Blvd/Pelzer Drive
Coleman Blvd/Chuck Dawley Blvd

December 1, 2023
Hungryneck Blvd/Venning Road
Ben Sawyer Blvd/Warrick Lane
Chuck Dawley Blvd/Shadow Drive
Coleman Blvd/Bayview Drive

On both days, the Traffic Safety Checkpoints will take place from 10 PM until 2 AM.
