My client came to me last year as a first time
offender with a serious felony that usually leads to jail time.
My client is a young college student with their whole life ahead of them.
The prosecutionā€™s first offer was 3 years HL suspended, 3 years probation. Probation means a tether on their life for three years, fines, costs, fees and a felony before 21! 21!
I countered with a misdemeanor charge that allowed my client to take responsibility for their actions and still have a second chance at life. The judge was not thrilled with this final resolution but allowed it to proceed (šŸ™ŒšŸ¾).

My client plead guilty to criminal mischief with no probation, a minimal fine. They left with peace of mind after 9 months of uncertainty.

If you had a court date last week 01/26-01/30 while courts were closed, you will most likely be RSBO(reset by order).

That means you need to make sure the courts have your correct address on file to mail your new date to.

This is a simple way to avoid a warrant and having to post bond again.
