Moore, O’Brien & Dufour was proud to sponsor and participate in CTLA’s Stephen G. Friedler Memorial Golf Tournament, held October 5 at Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington. The annual event brings together members of Connecticut’s plaintiff bar in support of CTLA and its mission of protecting individual rights and strengthening the civil justice system.

We’re always proud to support an organization—and a legal community—so closely aligned with the work we do for injured people every day.

Attorney Brett Gorman secured a $577,500 settlement for the estate of a client who tragically lost her life in a multifamily house fire.

Our investigation uncovered serious alleged fire-code and safety failures, including inadequate fire detection, unsafe and obstructed exits, and failures relating to required inspections. The firm pursued claims against both the landlord and the municipality.

After more than two years of litigation, multiple depositions, and three mediations, Attorney Gorman secured a substantial recovery for our client’s estate.

The result: $577,500 and accountability for a devastating, preventable loss.
