To the men and women in uniform, thank you for your service. At Leesfield & Partners, we are lucky to have two veterans at the firm - our Founder and Managing Partner, Ira Leesfield, and Alberto Arguello, a Paralegal.
Ira Leesfield, U.S. Army, Judge Advocate General Corps
Ira Leesfield, our Founder and Managing Partner, served as an army medic during the Vietnam War and did his basic training at Fort Polk in Louisiana. He then went on to Fort Sam in Houston, Texas, for advanced medical and combat training. He was later awarded the “American Spirit Medal of Honor” for patriotism and esprit de corps, a French term meaning a sense of unity and pride. His military service was completed in the Judge Advocate General Corps.
“I was 21 when I served as an enlisted army medic during the Vietnam War,” he said. “At Brooke Army Medical Center, we saw the eye-opening casualties of war. To me, Memorial Day is sacred.
This day is about memory, respect and making sure this country never forgets the cost of war.”
Alberto Arguello, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran
Alberto Arguello, a Legal Assistant at the firm, served in the U.S. Marine Corps from August 2002 until August 2006. He compelted training at the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in Beaufort County, South Carolina. He completed combat training at Camp Geiger in North Carolina and was later stationed at Camp Lejeune. He was deployed in Iraq from November 2005 until April 2006.
“I served with men and women who gave everything,” he said. “On this day, I choose to honor them for their sacrifices. We owe them that much, at the very least.”
